Hi Folks
OK - what's the secret.
I tried to sign in to blogs.perl.org, using:
o My use.perl.org id - No go
o My CPAN is - No go
o A new user registration - No go
In the last case, it rejected about 8 different passwords I invented on the spot.
Suggestions?
Your CPAN and use.perl IDs aren’t going to work there. These sites aren’t integrated. You can use OpenID, TypePad, etc to leave comments, but not to create or sign into your own blog.
You say it rejected your password. At which step, with what message? What exactly did you do and what happened?

I click on a post's '0 comments', and then on 'Sign in to comment.', and on 'Not a member? Sign Up!', and get a form to fill in.
So I fill it in a click 'Sign up', and it invariably echos the form with this at the top:
Sign up
! Text entered was wrong. Try again.Ideas?

Ah yes, that damned error message. That’s from the CAPTCHA, which silently fails to work for some reason we have yet to figure out. Can you try signing up for a regular site account from the front page?

Would it be possible to at least change the error msg to warn people the rejection of their input may be a 'system error' (say), to reduce frustration?

I don’t know. I don’t have shell access on the machine, and it’s MovableType, so my assumption is that if it was easy we’d have done it already – but maybe it’s just that no one has. I really can’t say.

The procedure I went thru first did not offer a captcha. That's why I did not mention it.
The procedure available via the front page does. That's why it works (I'd say).
